Coalition for Rocklin Youth (CPY)

We are a Drug-Free Communities Coalition of Placer County. Since 2008, the Coalition for Placer Youth has been dedicated to reducing youth substance use in Placer County through prevention strategies that build and sustain community health and wellness. Until October of 2019, we provided direct drug and alcohol education and access to credible resources to empower teens, parents and other community partners.

Placer County Supervisor and Co-Founder of the Placer County Youth Commission, Jim Holmes; Placer County Health Education Program Coordinator and former CPY Director Christina Ivazes; the longest and one of original founding members of the Coalition for Placer Youth, former CPY Chairperson and founder of Core Connectivity Joanna Jullien; all celebrating the accomplishments from 2008-2019. The community changes and resources live on!

The coalition identified gaps in community resources through ongoing community assessment and provided advocacy to improve environmental policies and youth capacity. Strategies were focused in Rocklin along with  data collection in Rocklin. Currently the coalition is not operating but has provided a Prevention Toolkit that we welcome any and all to utilize. It is filled with local resources, including contact information and a road map for success in reducing youth substance use: Prevention Toolkit.

The Coalition for Placer/Rocklin Youth ended its grant funding on September 30, 2019.  Please refer to the Prevention Toolkit and this website to meet your prevention/wellness needs. The Prevention Toolkit has a host of resources and local contacts.

Meanwhile, the RaisingPlacer.org website continues to be maintained by the Coalition for Auburn and Lincoln Youth, Granite Wellness Centers, Coalition for Roseville Youth and Placer County Department of Public Health. This will ensure the community continues to have access to a growing body of resources.

Our role in the community is to serve as a catalyst to challenge all community sectors to initiate, encourage and support prevention efforts that focus on building youth capacity.

Vision

Our vision is a healthy Rocklin community free of youth substance use where parents are informed and empowered and youth feel valued and supported.

Goals

Sustainability to Reduce Youth Substance Use. Please see the Prevention Toolkit we have developed for Rocklin partners to utilize now that grant funding has ended and the coalition is no longer operating.
